A highly collectible early 19th century Masons Patent Ironstone Hydra Jug in the “Japan Basket” pattern, England, circa 1820.
The jug features a serpentine shaped rim with spout, brightly painted in an Imari pattern with cobalt blues and orange reds.
The serpent shaped handle is called the Hydra.
Jug stands 6" (15 cm) tall.
Weight (before packaging) is 597 grams.
The jug is in very good antique condition with slight age commensurate wear.
